Hi I'm Sandra Cable

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an Engineer for a telecommunications company, I love computers, I collect Barbie Dolls, playing the piano, crafts and geneology. I am a Mom my two kids are grown, no grandkids yet. I have two cats and they are a part of the family. I have worked my whole life. I went back to school in my thirties and got an Electrical Engineering degree and a Computer Science minor. It wasn't easy with two young children I was raising. My Husband and I are still together and recently celebrated 38 years of marriage.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always loved God, Jesus Christ and the scriptures. I have known Mormon folks my whole life. They have always been wonderful people. I have a friend that is a member and was a missionary in Spain. He witnessed to me, was a good example and explained he was 19 years old when he did his missionary work. When Missionaries came to the door my heart was softened to hear their message. I am in my late fifties and joined the church in 2001. I am very glad I joined the church, it is the true Church and the Book of Mormon is a second testimony of Jesus Christ. The book of Mormon does not contradict the Holy Bible. I was really skeptical and am glad to report that they are in beautiful concert.Traditional Churches preach coming to Christ but stop there. This faith says OK you are baptized now here is what you can do and by faith you grow and learn beyond accepting Christs ultimate sacrifice. We must always remember Christ and honor him in all things and this faith teaches this.

How I live my faith

I am not perfect but I do what I can to help when and wherever I can. I am a Ward Missionary, I visit teach some wonderful ladies. This means I talk to these ladies and I am there for them to help them with what is needed as a good friend should. I play piano when I can for different services, I work at the Family History Center to help folks with their geneology work. What is really neat is there are many jobs in the church and everyone pitches in. If the building needs clean several of us clean it. If someone needs help moving out or moving in we all help. Your talents are appreciated and we have fun too. I finally belong somewhere. I have a bunch of good friends that are there when I need them. Having a Living Prophet is amazing, General Conferences are like two days of sermons and in these sermons/talks we hear from the leaders of the church. The messages are really good. We also have aTemple and I go to it as much as I can. Again I am not perfect, I have much to learn and do and will continue as long as the Lord allows me to.
