Hi I'm Amy

I'm an artist, a mom, a student, a dreamer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 28 year old mom of three. I retired from the dentist office when I got married and dove into my new job of full time mom! It's the greatest time of my life. My children are quite young and close together in age, and yet I've noticed heavenly help day by day to get me through. I've learned that my children are there to help me be the best I can be. One day, while encouraging my 5 year old to hurry up and do something he told me I was turning on my "mean voice." It had never even occurred to me that I had a mean voice! At my 10 year high school reunion some friends were shocked I had three kids! They didn't seem to understand the value of parenthood. Children can be seen as hinderances to life, but really they are helps. Yes, the career got a bump, but who out there looks back on their lives and says, "I wish I spent more time with my work!"

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I can't imagine life any other way! Following the church's teachings has saved me from the many pitfalls and lures the world offers. By keeping the commandments I have found power and freedom which many can only dream of. While on a cruise to Alaska, a young lady observed my husband and I while we toured a glacier. She came up to me later and told me that we appeared to be free spirits. She saw that we do not fear life and are at peace. It is because of this church that I don't rely on addictive substances to keep me going from day to day. I remember being young and my friends telling me how restrictive the Church of Jesus Christ is. It is those simple guidelines which have saved me from a lifetime of being restricted! The main reason I am a Mormon is that it gives me faith that a better life is possible through the atonement of Christ. Everyone in this world has to go through suffering and sometimes that suffering can really cast a shadow on life. When I was just married, my husband and I lost everything to a house fire. Even though all of our material possessions were taken, we were able to pray for comfort and it came to us. This is the reality of Christ's true church. Peace can be had in this life and in the life to come.

How I live my faith

I work with young children in my area teaching them songs about Jesus Christ. I donate my time each Sunday and prayerfully prepare myself to do this calling. I truly feel I have been called by the Savior to help prepare his children to find happiness in this troubled world. Some people tell me it's a hard thing to wrangle a large group of little kids, but I find myself uplifted and blessed every week. Christ has his eye upon even the littlest of his children and he gladly helps us teachers do our jobs! It's a great life!
