Hi I'm Ivy

I grew up in San Diego, CA. I am a labor doula and a mother of five. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was adopted by my dad and sealed to my parents when they got married. They raised me in the church and I was never made to feel like I didn't belong. I have been fascinated by birth since I was a child. I used to read my moms child birth books in secret. I always knew I wanted a large family of my own and I found a man who felt the same. One year after we were married we welcomed our first born, twins, into our lives and home. Since then I have come to know my second calling in life, second to being a wife and mother, and that is to be a labor doula. I am able to attend to women from all walks of life during what I consider one of the most sacred and spiritual moments of anyone's life. The time that they become mothers. I am so grateful for this opportunity and I feel it brings me closer to my Heavenly Father, my creator, during this pinnacle moment of creation.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, not because I was born and raised to be one, but because I have chosen to stay. I feel no outside pressure, only knowledge from within. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me. I know that I existed before I was born and that I chose to come here. I know that I have a purpose in being here, and that my spirit is strong. When faced with difficult decisions, and temptations I have always known that making the wrong choice will hurt me more than anyone else and I have been able to stay on the straight and narrow path because of that. I believe in revelation, both personal and priesthood. I believe that the Holy Ghost testifies of truth and I have felt His guidance in my life. I know that I am where I'm supposed to be, doing what I'm supposed to be doing and this brings me peace and happiness. I love my family and I love the Gospel.

How I live my faith

I teach the women in my ward. I am able to draw closer to my Heavenly Father each time I study and pray in preparation for my lessons. I give of my time and talents when I play the piano for the women to sing to each Sunday as well. I enjoy sewing and love to construct quilts and dolls to donate to humanitarian aid projects. I also visit some of the women from church in their homes each month to make sure that they are feeling well and to volunteer myself if they are in need of anything emotionally, physically, or spiritually.
