Hi I'm Tirone Gordon Ross Parker

I grew up in Alberta Canada! And right now i am currently serving a 2 year mission for my church in West Virginia. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Alberta, Canada which i love! I played sports throughout high school, my passion was volleyball, but i also played rugby. My biggest hobby and interest is going to the gym! I have been at it since about 14 years old and i can't seem to get enough of it, its a place where i seem to feel like i belong, where i can just be me and get rid of all my troubles and stress! I do have many other hobbies such as my guns, rock climbing, snowboarding etc, but the list goes on. More importantly I have 2 wonderful parents whom i love very much and are probably some of the coolest and most awesome parents around, they share a lot of my interests and are an excellent example to me. I also have one younger sister who also has taken up a passion for volleyball, plays rugby, and of course rock climbing. She's one rad little chick!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a Later Day Saint Mormon. But that doesn't matter just like anyone i grew my own testimony of why the church is true and why i am so grateful to call myself a Mormon. Around 16 i went through my phase of finding what i thought i wanted in life. I stopped attending church regularly, and starting hanging around with the wrong crowd and I'll leave it at that! Not until i was around 19 did really clue in that life was heading no where, something was missing, and i really didn't seem to be happy, even though i had my hobbies and interests to keep me busy. My life had no purpose nor direction! At that moment i remembered why my parents and family were and are so happy to call themselves Mormons! They know that our Heavenly Father has a plan for all of us, there is a point to this life and what we choose to do with it, not only that but we all have an individual purpose here on earth. Just having that knowledge that comes through the Later Day Saint faith makes me happy. Through much of my own personal prayer and study i have come to know this is 100 true! And more importantly i now know without doubt, that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christs church once again restored to the earth after being lost for many years... after the resurrection of Christ himself.

How I live my faith

I am now 21 years old. And i live my faith by sharing this message of Christs restored Gospel and Church with everyone i can everyday, and will be for the next two years! I am currently serving a full time mission for the Mormon church. Trying to bring people and their families to the knowledge of the truth! And more importantly the happiness, purpose and direction it brings through the Prophet of God... What a blessing it is to have a living prophet on the earth today!

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Tirone Gordon Ross Parker
This is an awesome question!! Here is a little something i have come to realize through my own studies. If you look up the definition of grace, you'll find one of them will say "Gods mercy, or the mercy of God". So how did God show the ultimate gift of mercy? He sent his son Jesus Christ to the earth to atone for the sins of the world! Now remember that doesn't take away our personal accountability, he saved us FROM our sins not IN our sins. We are taught in the Bible and the Book of Mormon to repent and forsake our sins! Now to forsake means to "do no more", So if we have TRULY repented that means we STOPPED doing those bad things and start doing good thing....AKA "works". Which means that we are saved through grace BY our works. No that doesn't mean I'm saying we "work" our way into Heaven, because it doesn't happen that way. But if we look at this in reverse it will help it make more sense! OK so... Having good works...or doing good continually, means you have truly repented correct?...Because we have changed or forsook our bad habits. This means that Christs MERCY that was shown through him atoning for our sins, can now take hold on us.... Hence "we are saved by Grace" but only if we repent, and we have truly repented when we are doing good works!. And thank heavens for the grace of Christ because without it we would be lost!
