Hi I'm Mike

I'm retired I live next to Yellowstone Nation park, i love the outdoors, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm retired and loving it. We have five grandchildren that we love to spoil. In the summer I enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities, especially golf and hiking. During the snowy winter months, I spend my time in the shop next to the house working with wood and welding. When I'm really ambitious I'll put on the snowshoes or cross country skies and take a stroll up a nearby canyon.

Why I am a Mormon

The Gospel has given me a purpose to my life that revolves around others rather than myself. As I read the Bible, especially the New Testament, I realize that the gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only religion that embraces the totality of Christ's teachings. I realize that I don't have to be perfect to enjoy the light of Christ in my life but I must be willing to make those course corrections as the spirit directs. The gospel gives me the opportunity to unite with others that have the same values and goals in life so that we can help each other and our families through this mortal sojourn. I'm thankful for the knowledge that families can be together forever, heaven would not be heaven without my family by my side.

How I live my faith

My wife and I are serving a 23 month mission for our church. We have left our family and friends temporarily to serve others 800 miles from home. Thanks to modern technology, we have been able to keep up with family events. Our last grandson was born just three months into our mission but when we “skype” and hear that our grandchildren want to be missionaries when they grow up, it makes it all worth while. We are also meeting great new friends and the other couple missionaries that we serve with are a fantastic support. When we help someone find a job or find our Savior it humbles us to know that in some small way we are doing what our Savior wants us to do at this point in our lives. To share a message of hope to a family or a new found friend is so rewarding and makes our challenges seems so insignificant. This has been such a blessing in our lives.
