Hi I'm Jim Wright

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I are parents of 10 children, who bring us great joy. There is rarely a dull moment in our home. I love music, especially jazz, and my children claim I can grill a tasty steak. I practice law and my wife uses her nursing degree to help young mothers care for their newborn babies.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a Mormon. My family and I have been the recipients of countless blessings because we’re Mormons. I marvel at the strength of the Church, which is a result of the devotion of its members. I marvel at the Church’s efforts to help those in need. I marvel at the teachings of Jesus Christ, which are at the core of all the Church does. And, although those factors are important, they are not the reason I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because it feels right – and not in a casual sense. I’m a Mormon because I’ve studied the teachings of the Church and tried to live those teachings and I’ve gone to my Heavenly Father in prayer and asked whether I should be a Mormon. He answers prayers. Although there is much good in the Church, that spiritual confirmation is why I’m a Mormon.

How I live my faith

One of the great joys of being a member of the Church is the opportunity it brings to serve others. I have the opportunity to visit four families each month to see how they are doing, how I might help them and to share a message with them that will hopefully help them draw closer to the Savior. They have blessed my life immensely. I try to live my faith the best I can. There are times I fall short, of course, but one of the great blessings of the gospel of Jesus Christ is that it allows us to always try to improve and do our best to follow the example of Jesus Christ.
