Hi I'm Jens

I grew up in Snowflake, Arizona and that's not an oxymoron! I am currently serving a mission in Wisconsin, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a loving family in a small town in Arizona. I am the second of four children and the uncle to the two coolest nephews in the world. I love my family, music and my life. I went to a year of college studying business and I enjoyed it, but I decided to take some time off to serve my God. He's given me so many things and I need to show my gratitude. I'm a missionary in the Wisconsin Milwaukee Mission right now and I'm having the time of my life! I love the Gospel because it has made me who I am.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, so it has always been a dominant influence in my life. I have always lived around Mormons and most of my friends growing up were Mormons. In some ways, I think it was harder to build a testimony for myself because I have not really experienced what a life without the gospel is like. I do know, however, that the Church is true. Sometimes I think I am lacking spirituality because there have not been too many huge, incredible experiences or visions that leave me without a doubt that this is indeed the true church, but then I remember all of the little things. There have been many tender mercies of the Lord in my life and I am grateful for them. I am the sum total of all of the little experiences that have led me to this point. The Prophet Alma said in the Book of Mormon, "by small and simple things are great things brought to pass," and I am a witness of that. Through those small and simple experiences I have had in my life, I do know without a doubt that the Church is true and that the fulness of the Gospel was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. Now, for the next two years and ultimately for the rest of my life I can share my testimony with people and maybe, though small and simple it may be, it can touch their hearts and bring them closer to Christ. That would be a great thing to me.

How I live my faith

I do my best to help out when I can. So far, I have served in various youth leadership positions and I was also the assistant organist for my congregation for a few years. I am currently serving a full-time mission in Wisconsin, helping people everyday. I look forward to the rest of my life and the oppportunities I will have to continue to serve my fellowman and my God.

What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

Jens
Our unique message is that the original Church of Jesus Christ has been restored to the Earth. The Savior Himself established it during his mortal ministry; but after he died and the Apostles were killed, the authority to run the Church and recieve revelation was lost. Through time, unauthorized people made changes to the true Church and teachings of Christ. There were still good people through these Dark Ages though. They tried to find the truth but it just was not there. In the early 1800s, the truth was restored to the Earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith. The authority to run the Church was brought back and the work once again began to move forward just as it had when Christ started it almost 2000 years before. So basically, Mormanism is the Church of Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and that the Church he restored will help us to follow Him and return to live with our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
