Hi I'm Bill

I grew up in Southern California traveled the world as a militray officer and now live in Omaha, NE.

About Me

I'm retired army currently employed at a large freight railroad. My wife and I will celebrate 4l years of marriage in August. We have 2 children and 4 grandchildren and another grandchild is due in December. I'm a avid golfer, fly fisherman, ski racer, and I enjoy working in our garden with my wife. I'm totally dedicated to my wife, my children and my grandchildren. My family is the greatest gift that I have ever received.

Why I am a Mormon

I’m a Mormon because I love the Lord. My knowledge of Him is not absolute for I haven’t seen the Lord but I know He lives as surely as I know that I live; for the Holy Ghost has born witness to me again and again the He lives, that He is my Savior and the Savior of the world and my redeemer, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His kingdom on earth. Since I was very young I have sought to know who I am, why I am here on this earth, and what will happen to me after death. Extinction at death just didn’t seem right, didn’t feel correct. I felt that there had to be more or what was the point of it all. As a youth I sought understanding from friends and later from college religion courses, and attending various church services; but didn’t obtain understanding until I read the Book of Mormon. My conscience told me the Book of Mormon was true when I read it. But I wanted to make sure. So I asked the Lord in prayer and received an immediate answer by the Holy Ghost who came upon me with such power that I knew the Book of Mormon was the word of God. That being so, I decided to live according to its teachings which has brought me great blessings of peace and joy.

How I live my faith

I daily try to follow the Savior. I have discovered that such a course is the most difficult and the most rewarding course a man can peruse. I have hope in the mercy of the Lord and do my best every day to be obedient to the teaching of Christ and to those of His prophets as I understand them. I’m grateful for prophets on the earth to guide and direct me. Knowing the truth, I’m fully committed but far from perfect. I also labor in the Lord's Kingdom. There is no paid ministry in the Lord's church. Each member is a volutneer worker. I have had many assignments in His church and have enjoyed them all. Currently I'm one of the leaders in my local chuch organization. I always find great joy and satisfaction in teaching and working together with other members of His chuch to serve and help each other.
