Hi I'm Lisa

I'm a college student. I love music, food, and Europe. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm just a regular girl going to college! I'm pursuing my degree in Early Childhood Education. I don't have much to say about myself that is overly exciting, but there are a few things that define who I am. I absolutely love anything and everything that makes me laugh or smile. I also find that music is a huge part of my life! As is food. I may not be spectacular at playing music or creating the most fancy dishes, but I can appreciate good quality when I see it (or taste it!). One of my dreams in life is to be able to travel the world, to really experience other cultures and ways of life. I love to learn new things and I believe that being able to travel to other countries would be one of the best ways to expand my knowledge. The most important part of what makes me who I am though is my family and the people I associate myself with. I am lucky to be blessed with incredibly amazing parents, siblings, and, friends who have helped shape me into the person that I am today.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a testimony that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. I have learned this for myself over the years of going to church, ward activities, reading scriptures, etc. I haven't really had a "big moment" where all of a sudden I just knew it was true, and I don't think it matters how I received my testimony. The important thing is that I have one. I love this gospel with all of my being. It is most definitely the reason that I am so happy. I have felt the Savior's presence in my life and I truly know that He and Heavenly Father love me.

How I live my faith

One of the biggest ways that I participate in my ward is by going to the activities that are so often set up for us. Among other things, we get together on Monday nights for fun activities as well as spiritual moments. I try my best to serve those in my ward, whether it be making someone cookies or treats, or just stopping by to say hi. I also make an effort to serve in my community, not just my ward. I believe that service is a huge part of my faith and I want to make as much of an effort to be as Christ-like in that area as I can.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Lisa
The purpose of our lives here on Earth is to grow and progress so that we can become worthy to return back to Heavenly Father (God). Coming here to Earth allows us to receive a physical body. We are also blessed with agency in which we have the choice to choose between good and evil. We are able to learn and gain experience that will help us become more like our Heavenly Father. And finally we are able to form family relationships that may become eternal. If we choose to follow Heavenly Father's plan, we will return with Him and all of our loved ones on day. This knowledge provides great peace and happiness in this life, but more importantly eternal joy in the life to come. Show more Show less
