Hi I'm Jameson

I am a loan officer for a local credit union. I hope to be a doctor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I served a full-time mission for two years in the Concepción Chile area. I am married to a beautiful young lady. We were sealed for time and all eternity in the Twin Falls Idaho temple. I enjoy snowboarding, backpacking, rafting, mountain biking and everything in the outdoors. I love Latin American food and culture! I am the youngest in my family and just finished a bachelor's degree in business administration. I am applying to medical school. I enjoy being with people and helping them better their lives. And did I mention, that I LOVE playing basketball!

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a Mormon. I was born with my parents and all my older siblings going to church and living the restored Gospel. However, when I was little I just went because my whole family went and that is what we did. In fact, when I was about 7 - 9 years old, I didn't like going to church. But then, my vision started to change. I thoroughly desired and wanted to know why was this so important to my parents and whether or not it was true. And I did as many people have done, I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know of its truthfulness. I do know by the power of the Holy Ghost that the book is true. The Book of Mormon is inspired by God and any person may come to know of its surety. Nevertheless, what has strengthened my knowledge more fully is service. I have felt the Spirit bear witness to me as I serve the Lord and others in this, His church, that it is true. I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and our personal Savior. I have felt the power of His Atonement. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God to be the instrument to help bring back the Church of Jesus Christ and His authority to save man from sin. I know that God is our Father and loves each and everyone of us. He loves us enough to guide us through a living prophet, Thomas S. Monson, today. I know these things for myself.

How I live my faith

I strive my best everyday to be a disciple of Christ and be as He is. Every morning and night I pray alone and with my wife. I pray often throughout my day when I am faced with distinct tasks. Each night I review my day with the Lord and seek His assuring comfort that I did well with His name. My family is of greatest importance to me. Through marriage I have come to learn much of Jesus Christ, love, sacrifice, selfishness, humility, obedience and forgiveness. My wife has taught me how to love and allow someone to love me. She shows me the importance of forgiveness and compassion for others. Her sweet spirit inspires me to be a better man. My daily goal is to inspire other people to be better people and allow them to feel the love of their Father in Heaven. I say "hello" and smile to as many people as I can. With so much negativity in society, I look to be a light unto others. I throw negative thoughts and ideas from my mind, and I help others do the same. I don't see the world as a terrible, dark place. Rather I feel that there has never been a more splendid time to live upon the earth. There is a living prophet on the earth today who aides us in preparing the world for the return of our Savior.

What is the priesthood?

Jameson
The priesthood power was utilized to create the world and all found in it. The first man to receive this priesthood was Adam. However, at distinct times throughout history man has rejected the teachings of Jesus Christ and His prophets. Therefore, God the Father withdrew His priesthood power from man. When Christ walked on the earth He established His church. The Church of Jesus Christ was guided by men holding the priesthood authority. Christ's church, teachings, and priesthood, were lost again from the earth after His death and the martyrdom of His apostles. Our loving Heavenly Father placed His priesthood again upon the earth through Joseph Smith. Thus, a prophet was once again on the earth with the priesthood authority to baptize and lead the Church of Jesus Christ. The priesthood is granted to worthy men by God the Father. These men use the priesthood to bless the lives of others: to lead a congregation, or ward, to baptize for the remission of sins, to confirm the gift of the Holy Ghost after baptism, to bless the sick, to seal a marriage and family for time and eternity, etc. Show more Show less
