Hi I'm Kimber!

I love being my children's mother, I'm the best wife my husband has ever had (I like that guy), I don't sew, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Since being married we have moved 12(!) times. We have lived in our current location for 2 years and that is a near record for us. From all those moves I have realized that there are good people everywhere, and that even when you haven't quite figured out where you are our Father in Heaven is still in the same place and knows where to find you. I am a stay at home mom with 2 college degrees. I love being with my family--playing board games, volleyball, basketball, night games, camping in the backyard, begging the kids to let me ride their scooters, and taking walks and talks with my husband. I also love taking time to just be still. I enjoy learning about new things. My latest has been to dream that I'm a gardener. I am a 3rd year "gardener". I canned tomatoes that I grew in my garden, peaches, chicken (not from my garden), made salsa, and grew & dried my own herbs this year for the first time ever--I am so proud! Not only that, I have been baking my own bread for 2.5 years now--Can I get some kind of "Domestication" award here?!? :) I know there are people who do so much more, but I hadn't until recently. I am surprised every time by how enjoyable and satisfying it is to learn how to do things that were foreign to me before, and how much I love it. I love my family with all my heart and soul. My happiest times are just being with them--(it helps when everybody is in a good mood of course!). I love the Lord and the light and joy that He offers us.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because it provides answers to my very most important questions. It gives me hope, peace, knowledge and understanding. Through it I have access to the strength that I need to get back Home to live with my Father in Heaven and others that I dearly love again. When I follow the teachings of Jesus Christ I have joy, happiness, healing and peace that I can’t get any earthly way. The Lord really is real. He loves me and He loves you. We are known and cherished by Him. I know that. I also know through personal experience that when you have a sincere desire to receive answers to your questions, have faith to ask, and patience to listen for the still, quiet answers, they will come. He will let you know if this Church is really His--in a way that your mind and heart can understand. I love it!

How I live my faith

There are two statements that I love about faith, well, there are a lot of them, but two of them are: "Even great faith has a short shelf life." (Henry B. Eyring), and, "Faith is like the muscle of your arm. If you exercise it, it grows strong. If you put it in a sling and leave it there, it becomes weak." (True to the Faith). I have moments in life where I've experienced strong faith, weak faith, and everything in between, and it had everything to do with my efforts and actions. I like how I feel when my faith is strong much better than how I feel when it is weak! To keep my faith strong there are "exercises" that I do on a daily basis. A few of those include prayer (personal prayer, prayer with my husband, and prayer with the whole family each morning and night), thoughtful study and searching of the scriptures (and the words of modern prophets) to gain strength and find answers to my questions, and choosing to keep the commandments of God. Just like exercise, the results might take a little while to notice, but little by little it makes such a noticeable difference! I try to be the best person--wife, mother, friend, etc . . . that I can be. I fall short often, but because of Jesus Christ I get to try again, to learn, to grow, and little by little, over time, have my heart change. What a priceless blessing!
