Hi I'm Valerie

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife and mother, but I also enjoy reading, writing, and genealogy. I've recently finished a YA novel that I hope to publish once I find an agent.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and love the gospel of Jesus Christ. Though I attended the church from my infancy, I still had to gain my own testimony of its truthfulness. I believed it was true, but it was only as I began to read the Book of Mormon and other scriptures daily and pray each day as well that I began to feel a power in my life that I soon recognized as the Holy Ghost. It witnessed to me that all good things in my life came from my Heavenly Father. I began to feel His love for me and know that He was aware of me, that I was His daughter. I was blessed with peace and happiness in my life as I followed His commandments and listened to a prophet of God. Since those teenage years, my testimony continues to grow as I witness the miracles of the spirit in my life and the lives of my family. I've come to better understand my need for a Savior. I know because of His great love for me and all mankind, He offers His atonement, and because of it I can return to my Father in Heaven one day. By faith I continue to follow Him and strive to pattern my life after His.

How I live my faith

I've had many opportunities to serve in the church and currently am blessed to teach and lead young women ages 12 to 18. It is a blessing to share my testimony with them as they are building their own. Living my faith goes far beyond just serving in church on Sunday and Tuesday night. It's remembering my Savior in every moment. It's knowing that I represent Him. Because I have taken His name upon me, it's no longer about me...it's about Him and His gospel and building His kingdom here upon the earth. That's an everyday thing.
