Hi I'm Dale

I have lived in Fremont County, Idaho all of my life. I manage an irrigation district. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, my name is Dale. I have lived in Fremont County, Idaho all of my life except for a brief time serving an LDS mission to California and finishing my bachelor degree at Brigham Young University. Fremont County is a rural farming area so growing up I did a lot farm work, moving sprinkler pipe, hauling hay, milking cows, picking rocks, harvesting potatoes, and operating all types of farm equipment. I was fortunate enough to marry a girl who also grew up in Fremont County. We married while I was at BYU. We were also very fortunate in being able to raise our family of 6 children in the same area where we grew up. I have worked for an irrigation district for over 30 years. I have really enjoyed my job. There are many issues involving irrigation supply, water distribution, and maintenance which makes my job very interesting and challenging. I also enjoy gardening, traveling, and running. Recently my wife and I have decided to get into golfing. We think that is an outdoor sport that we can do together as we look forward to retirement. I also enjoy serving in my church and community. I have not really excelled at anything. Basically I'm just an ordinary guy who is glad to be here and wants to make a positive difference in my family, the irrigation community and our neighborhood.

Why I am a Mormon

When I served as a church missionary for two years in California I had the opportunity to teach people of different faiths or no faith at all about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I also had the opportunity to study the gospel in depth and learn about our Savior Jesus Christ. My testimony of Him grew immensely. The Holy Ghost bore witness to me many times that He is my Savior and Redeemer. I also taught people about Joseph Smith who saw God and Jesus Christ when he was a young man in the year 1820. Joseph was chosen by God to reorganize the Church of Jesus Christ. I learned a lot about Joseph Smith on my mission and I testify that he was a true prophet and the church he reorganized under the direction of Jesus Christ is the true church on earth today. I have had my testimony of Jesus Christ reconfirmed over and over again as I have tried to keep His commandments, pray diligently and serve others. The gospel has made a huge impact on me and my family. The gospel has taught me how to be a good husband and father, how to be a leader, and how to serve others. The gospel has been a catalyst in my own personal development. I'm not perfect by any means but because of the gospel I am more kind and thoughtful toward others than I otherwise would have been and over all I am a much better person because the gospel is an integral part of my life.

How I live my faith

I have been a Mormon since I was baptized at eight years of age. I grew up in a Mormon community so just about all of my friends were Mormons. When I served as a church missionary for two years in California is when my commitment to the church became solidified. I determined that I would always serve in the church, that I would do whatever I was asked to do and do it to the best that I could. So over the years I done a lot of service including leading young men, older men and presiding over the congregation in our area. I have very much enjoyed my service in the church.
