Hi I'm Cory

I'm a scientist. I like to run. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a scientist in the making! I studied chemistry at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and am hoping to find a job in a research lab. I like to play soccer, Frisbee, Spikeball and run. I served a mission in the Belgium, Brussels Netherlands mission speaking Dutch and can't wait to go back again someday!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm part of a long line of Mormons going all the way back to the start of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and proud of it. That doesn't mean I'm the best Mormon who's ever lived. I think some of my great great grandparents worked a lot harder at it when they crossed the plains and came to Utah in a handcart in the 1800's, but I try my best in today's world. I gained an assurance that God lives through reading The Book of Mormon. I know we can't prove Joseph Smith translated The Book of Mormon from gold plates, but we can be open and give him a chance. Eleven witnesses testified they saw the gold plates in person, and their testimony can be read in the first few pages of The Book of Mormon. Millions more have claimed they know Joseph Smith was telling the truth as well. I'd like to say that when I find a quiet time every day to read The Book of Mormon, my thoughts turn toward God, and that gives me a desire to get to know him better. As I've tried to live how God wants me to live, I've found that that makes me more happy than I've ever been before. I wouldn't trade that happiness for anything.

How I live my faith

Recently, I've been asked to be an online missionary. That means sharing what I believe through the internet and social media! It's a lot of fun. So if you want to look at my facebook page or follow me on twitter, you can find out how I do it!
