Hi I'm Keitha

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Miami and in D/FW. I'm a psychology major. I love movies and especially love music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right now I'm working to save money for next semester at college. I hope to graduate in 3-4 years. I'm in a transition point in my life with school, work, and eventually moving to another state. I look forward to this new journey! I love all types of music and going to concerts. I like watching action and comedy movies the most. Any movie that has a good looking guy is always a plus!! I have done some traveling, mostly in the US, and hope to see the world while I can. I love drawing and I love being with my friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a family that didn't put too much emphasis on religion or faith. My mom and I went to church when I was little, but life got difficult with the death of a family member. From that point on I was very against religion or the belief in a higher power. By turning my back on God, I only turned myself into an angry person. After a few years of living that way, I become interested in "the meaning of life". I searched many different faiths and religions and always felt that something was missing. I had so many questions that could not be answered. I looked into the LDS faith but didn't take it seriously. I gave up on that search thinking "maybe we aren't supposed to know EVERYTHING". Nearly 2 years ago I returned to church after learning that very close family friends were in fact LDS/Mormon. The first time I attended church with them it felt wonderful. I immediately decided to speak with the missionaries and learn more. Two months later I was baptized and have been living my new Mormon life ever since. I am so grateful for the knowledge and joy that the Restored Gospel brings to my life. I know that the Book of Mormon is a true testament of Jesus Christ. By the power of God, Joseph Smith translated it. The priesthood has been restored and we now have temples to perform sacred ordinances for our ancestors who have passed on. Through all of this, we have the opportunity to be closer to our Heavenly Father and to know more of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Through my own personal prayer and revelation I know this church is the one true church on Earth. The only way that we can return to live with our Father in Heaven is by faith in Christ and following His commandments.

How I live my faith

I currently attend the Young Single Adult ward in my area. My life has completely changed in a great way. I do my best to be a shining example of Christ's love. I have an important calling in our ward as the counselor of education for the church's women's organization. I love being part of this organization. We have a sisterhood that isn't corrupted by gossip, body image, jealousy, etc. At church we are united by our love for Christ and our love for each other. Sunday's are now my day to focus on the Lord and I look forward to them every week. We often have monthly and weekly gatherings (in addition to our Sunday church meetings) in which we share spiritual thoughts and enjoy each other's company. I have made so many wonderful friends. I no longer have a feeling of despair when I think of the state of the world. I now have hope and a genuine love for the world.
