Hi I'm Ami
I'm an animal lover, a social worker, a wife, an East coast girl, and I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I was born in Provo, Utah, lived my childhood years in California and my teen years in Philadelphia. I love everything about the East coast, well except for maybe the snow! I have five younger sisters who are my best friends. I met the man of my dreams in college and we have been married for six years. I have my master's degree in Social Work and I love what I do. I enjoy reading, watching movies, blogging, and traveling.
Why I am a Mormon
I have been a Mormon my entire life. Sometimes I wonder why I am so lucky and blessed to have been born into this religion. Without my faith, I would be lost. I am a Mormon because the gospel just makes sense. Everything I do is based on my belief in God and Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because this church has a living prophet who guides and directs my life. I find peace when I read the Book of Mormon. I find guidance when I attend the Temple. Just because I am spiritual and faithful does not mean challenges and trials will not come my way, but it does mean that I can find peace and comfort through Christ when they do. All of my life I have known that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the true church on this earth. However, sometimes I did not want to follow what I was being taught. There came a point where I could no longer live off of my parents testimonies, I had to gain my own. My testimony came slowly and surely. I had different experiences in my life that helped me know the truth. I continue to have those experiences.
How I live my faith
Being a Mormon is a lifestyle. Every Sunday I attend church and spend three hours learning about Christ's teachings. I also teach the 14 & 15 year old young women each Sunday. During the week I am able to meet with sisters in the ward that need help and I have some women who are assigned to visit me once a month (everyone does!). Once a month I attend an activity put on by the women's organization. My strongest support system are the friends I have made through out the church.
