Hi I'm Marissa

I am a wife, a new mother, an aspiring teacher, a musician, cook, runner, and a Mormon.

About Me

I am happily married and recently had our first child. It has brought so much joy into my life to become a mother. Although taking care of a baby is very challenging, there is nothing else I would rather do right now. I firmly believe that "Children are not a distraction from more important work. They are the most important work." I know that children are straight from heaven, and as parents we have the opportunity and responsibility to help them return to their heavenly home. I am also studying to become an elementary school teacher. I love helping children learn and I feel that I can make a difference in many lives by this career when I have it, but my commitment to my family will always come first. My hobbies include distance running and healthy cooking. My life has also been full of music, mostly piano and singing, and I am learning the violin.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ has brought me to find peace and happiness in life. It gives me hope of receiving eternal life, to live with God and our families forever. I know this is real because I feel the loving hand of a Heavenly Father in my daily life as my prayers are answered. My understanding and faith increase as I study His teachings in scripture and words of a living prophet. Each day I find joy and satisfaction by seeking to live by those teachings, and following the example of our Savior.

How I live my faith

I accompany the congregation at church on the organ. It is wonderful to use music in worship, and be able to serve this way. I visit other women in our church and help them however I can.
