Hi I'm Claudia

I live in Pennsylvania, USA. I am a musician and a seamstress. I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 32 years to a good man. We have three good children who are grown. My favorite times are when all of our children, their spouses and friends are here at home. I am also a musician. My very earliest memories include singing songs, or playing the piano. When I was a teenager I started playing the cello. After being a wife and mother, cello is what I do. I also sew and enjoy discovering and cooking new recipes then sharing the results with those I love.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 12 my family moved to a new town. The girl who became my best friend was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We were inseparable. After awhile she invited me to go to Church with her. When her older brother left for his mission, she was inspired to invite me to take the missionary discussions. When the missionaries challenged me to be baptized, I felt it was a good thing to do. Thinking about making that commitment, I realize that I had been converted to the great youth program in the ward and the loving care of my friends' parents as well as the youth leaders. It wasn't long until I decided that I should seek for a testimony of Jesus Christ as the Son of God. In Seminary we had home study materials. One Sunday as I studied about the Atonement, I prayed that I might receive a witness about the Savior-who He was, what He did and His relationship to me. As I studied, I came upon a description of the agony that He endured in the Garden of Gethsemane. I was overwhelmed with the sense that He had done that for me. How great His love must be! What gratitude I felt and continue to feel that Heavenly Father would hear the prayer of a 15 year old girl and give her the answer she sought. That one event has been the determining factor in all the decisions I have made in my life. I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I know that He lives and that He loves me. I know that a loving Heavenly Father does hear and answer our prayers. Through obedience to His laws and the principles of His gospel we will be happiest.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to develop leadership skills as I have worked with the children, the youth and the adult women at Church. One of my favorite things to do is to teach from the scriptures. I also enjoy the times that I have the chance to teach the gospel through music. My associates in the community know that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I hope for opportunities to teach about the gospel either in conversation or by example. I have come to recognize that with every chance to share and serve, I am the one who is richly blessed.
