Hi I'm Lois

I am a Maori from New Zealand. I moved to Australia in April 1996, I am an Australian Citizen. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 4 chidren and also had the previlege of being a mother to 3 other children whom I love them like my own. I am also a grandmother of 8. I work as a CAREGiver in the Community for Seniors who want to remain in their own homes, that is a Blessing in itself as I get so much love and joy from being able to assist them and to meet their needs. I was bought up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, as my Dads' family were all mormons. My mum was Catholic but was baptised in 1955.  I am one of 15 children and 10 still living now. I chose to join my friends in the world in my teen days, but I have come back after 4 decades. How I came back was through a friend who asked me to come home, I knew I was ready, the timing was right and I said yes. I started going to church and was taught the lessons from the missionaries, I told them I had been baptised as a child, but my records could not be found, so I chose for myself to be baptised In May 2010, and my eldest child and his family were present to witness that wonderful day. I also received the gift of the Holy Ghost. Recently June 2011, I had my Endowment (the most powerful important spiritual experience in my life). I am so grateful to return to the Gospel and experience the blessings in my life. Since becoming a member my life has changed with so much love for myself and to give unto others. I know that I have a loving extended family. I have put the Lord first in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because of my dad, he bought us up living the Gospel and my mum was a convert into the church in 1955. Even though I chose to live the world life in my teens I can honestly say that I knew that I will come home one day. I had always stated my religion as Mormon, and I have never investigated any other church. I do regret that I never taught my children the Gospel, all my children were baptised to follow thier dads religion, but now I am having FHE with my grand children and their parents in which it is a blessing for me to be given this opportunity. I am so grateful to return to the Gospel and to be taught again by the missionaries. I also know that Our Heavenly Father has a plan for me and that families can be together forever. Since becoming a member I have received many blessing, I am a faithful member of the Church, I have found peace, love and happiness. I just love the Gospel so much that I know, I have become a better person. I have a strong testimony: I know that God lives, I know that Jesus Christ is the son of God, I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior, Redeemer and Exempler, I know that Joseph Smith was the prophet called by God to restore the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on earth, I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon, I know that we have a living Prophet today President Thomas S Monson, I know that God loves each and everyone of us that we are all his children, I know that this is the only True Church on earth today the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I leave this in the name of Our Savior Jesus Christ Amen.

How I live my faith

I attend Sacrament Meetings each Sunday, I enjoy visiting sisters to share a monthly messsage, to assist if they need any help, to sing a song or just to be a listening ear. I pray daily read scriptures daily. I attend the Temple frequently it is such a blessing to be able to make time and act upon it. I have FAITH in the Gospel, FAITH also means Action. (believe in something than act upon it). As a sister I am a member of a group that arrange events/activities for the sisters so we can all particpate together which we hold 4 a year. I love helping anyone who needs help. It is a blessing when you are able to participate to help others in need of your help. I love being around people of all ages to assist in whatever they require. My employment as a CAREGiver to our Seniors (aged care) in the community also allows me to do this service, and it comes deep within my heart. The joy I receive and their gratitude they give, as they say i want to stay in my own home for as long as I can, they say we are their Guardian Angels they are so grateful for this service we provide so they can remain at home. I say that it is also a blessing for me to be able to help and take care of them in their own homes. I offer my service in cooking and I love catering for functions. I love cooking for our missionaries.
