Hi I'm Nanci

I own an international frozen yogurt company. I judge state pageants for the Miss America Pageant. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom of four children and a grandmother of 14, but I still consider myself young! I love to read historical novels, especially while eating a cold, crisp apple. I love to shop, travel, and meet new friends. I lived in many foreign countries when I was young, attending a different school every year. I love to talk to people of all cultures and religions. I like to eat healthy food and stay fit. I love to play the piano, sing in choirs, and direct music. I graduated from college with a major in journalism and have had many wonderful experiences working on newspapers and in television. I love to speak Spanish, even though it is not my native language. My dream is to someday go on a safari in Africa. My favorite thing to do is to teach the 15-year-old's in my Sunday School class each week,

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up, my father was not a Mormon, but my mother was. Because of my father's work, we lived in cities where there were not many Mormons. I learned to respect the beliefs of other people, even if their teachings were not what I believed. My mother always took my brother and I to a Mormon church whenever it was possible. I read the Book of Mormon and knew, with all my heart, that it was as true as the Holy Bible. The day I was baptized was the most precious day of my life. My favorite moments in every day are the times I kneel in prayer and talk to my Heavenly Father. How kind He is to allow us to talk to Him whenever we want, and about anything we want! I know He hears my prayers and always answers them. I know that Christ taught us to pray to our Father in His name, in the name of Jesus Christ, because He is our Savior. He died and was resurrected so that we all can be resurrected someday. I know that if I follow the teachings of Jesus and His restored Gospel that I can live with Him again and be with my family forever. I know that the Mormon Church is the restored Church which Jesus first organized when He lived on earth. I know that Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, love me and want me to have joy in this life and in the next.

How I live my faith

I start every day with a prayer to thank Heavenly Father for all of His many blessings and to ask Him to watch over me and protect me throughout the day. I also ask him to help me be successful at the things I have planned for the day. I ask for His Spirit to lead me and prompt me. Often, during the day, I think of Jesus and how He lived His life on this earth. As I work with people, I try to be kind, cheerful, and helpful. I am involved in many community activities where I hope that I am an example of honesty, faith, and unselfishness. I teach Sunday School each week and have the opportunity to teach 15-year-old boys and girls how to trust in Heavenly Father and Jesus, and how to avoid the temptations of the world. I teach them the importance of developing their talents and sharing them with others. I visit neighbors often and take meals and other treats to those who need to know that someone loves them. I never hesitate to let people know that I believe in God and that anything I have been blessed with in the way of talents and skills comes from Him.
