Hi I'm Chris

I lived in Taiwan for 2 years. I am currently serving in the United States Air Force. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student at a military academy studying political science and chinese. I come from a family of 4 children me being the oldest. I love to run, was in cross country for high school. I am also a great enthusiast of the arts, have taken lessons in ballroom dancing as well as classic piano.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been lucky enough to have a Mother who cared enough about me to bring me to church. Although we all have struggles and no one is perfect she knew it was important that at least she taught me the things she knew that were true. Things such as we have a God who is our loving Heavenly Father. Families are important and these relationships should be treasured and valued. True service must be given with a sincere heart and pure motive. I grew up blessed by her example as she taught me by the way she lived. Likewise, over the years as I grew to young adulthood I came to more personally know the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Through lessons at church I heard other's testimonies of him. Through reading his words in the Bible and Book of Mormon I personally grew in my testimony of him. Yet by the time I was in highschool, I as many others my age came to question and wonder if these things were really true. How was I too know? I knew that I could not settle for the faith of my Mother or my friends alone but I myself had to search and ask God for a personal witness of the truthfulness of these teachings. I set out to read and study the Book of Mormon myself for the course of nearly half a year. Again and again I read and pondered the words, and asked God in the name of Christ to help me feel it's truth. I had always been taught the Holy Ghost, or God's messenger would bring a burning to my heart if it was so. That I could know for myself. Yet at first it did not come so easily and I did believe I had felt an answer. After much frustration I decided to continue to go forward with faith and do what I hoped to be right. One day on general invitation to the congregation I decided to stand and share the things that I believed and hoped to be true. As I shared the feelings of my heart I did feel that witness of the Holy Ghost bring a peace to my heart. I realized that I had always known it was true, as I had always felt this peace as I followed Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have recently completed a 2 year missionary service to the people of Taiwan. I am now returning home and re-integrating into school and social life. My mission meant everything to me as it allowed me to be to learn more about myself and my realtionship with God and my fellowman. Coming home now my main goal is to have a good impact on others by living a good life myself. I am studying in college, obtaining a good education while continuing to seek opportunities to serve and interact with those around me, developing healthy friendships no matter what religious or cultural backgrounds we may have. I am also preparing to become a responsible father who will take care of and provide for his family.
