Hi I'm Rex

I'm a native of beautiful Colorado. I'm a husband, a father, and a runner. I love working with teenagers and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a ranch is Southwestern Colorado. As a child, a perfect day was doing anything outside in the sunshine. I still enjoy riding horses and hiking in the mountains of Colorado. Now a perfect day includes an early morning run. While attending college, I was lucky enough to find my best friend and we have been married for 20 years. We have four children.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of my faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The simple Christian example of my parents led me to a desire to know the Lord personally. As I have studied and pondered His words in the scriptures, I have come to feel a spiritual connection Him. I strive to follow Him and accept the atoning sacrifice that he made on our behalf. I have come to know Him best through reading and pondering the scriptures and through the teachings of modern day prophets. I also accept the possibility that my family can be together for all eternity if we work together to follow the example of our Savior and keep his commandments. How amazing that the joy I feel at home with my wife and children can be felt forever.

How I live my faith

The most critical way that I live my faith is the way I act in my own home. My wife and I try every day to set an example of following the commandments and living a Christian life. As a family we study the scriptures together each day and praying together brings us closer. We try to play together and pray together as a family. As my children get older I am trying to encourage them to continue following the virtues and beliefs that are so important to me. In the LDS Church, I have the joy of working with individuals as they try to follow the example of our Savior. I am always grateful for the humble example of those around me as they grow in faith and spirit.

In whom should we have faith?

Fortunately, as a baby I was blessed with great parents. It was easy to trust and have faith in Mom and Dad. As I grew, I learned that an even more important faith is our faith in the Savior, Jesus Christ. As my spirituality has grown I have accepted that the blessings of Heaven can be mine if I have the necessary faith in the Savior and His atoning sacrifice. I started by simply believing in Jesus Christ but as I have put my belief to the test by acting on his commandments, I have been led to a greater confidence in the Saviors power and love for me. This faith leads me to continue to try and act in accordance to all th words which we have received from the Lord. Show more Show less
