Hi I'm Sharon

I'm a Mormon. I joined when I was 20 years old.

About Me

My husband and I are now empty-nesters after raising four children. We enjoy kayaking, hiking, and bicycling together. I also enjoy reading, sewing, and doing puzzles. I work part-time as an educational assistant for our high school.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was in college, I took a religion class to fulfill a humanities requirement. The class required visiting several churches and writing about the experiences. Since I had several friends of different faiths, I visited many churches, but I kept coming back to the Mormon church. It took me a while to figure out I was feeling the spirit of the Holy Ghost. Finally I went to the missionaries and ask what I needed to do to join the church. A decision I have never regretted.

How I live my faith

I try to be a good example to others. My co-workers and neighbors know I'm a Mormon. I tell them about my son, who is currently on a mission, and about my involvement with girls camp. I'm the girls camp director and we have about 100 girls each summer up at camp. There is a lot of planning that needs to be done ahead of time, but the week of girls camp is such a fun, spiritually time, it is well worth the work.
