Hi I'm Deloy

I'm a husband, I'm a father, I'm an "empty-nester", I'm an accountant, I'm a lover of life, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband: I and my wonderful wife were married in 1974, and we have enjoyed each other's company and lived happily together ever since. I'm a father and a grandfather: We have three adopted children, and now have four wonderful granddaughters. I'm an "empty-nester": Our children have grown and left home and made homes of their own, and now it's just the two of us enjoying our quiet home! I'm an accountant: Accounting was my chosen career path from my senior year in high shool, and I have never regretted that choice. I like numbers, I like putting the numbers together and getting them to balance and make sense, and I like making sure they're accurate. I also like the organizational aspect of accounting. I enjoy traveling, seeing new places and new things, reading, hiking, cave tours, riding trains (especially old steam engine trains), eating out, quiet times at home, and playing board or card games with friends. I currently live in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Why I am a Mormon

Because it's true - the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true!  I have known the church was true since a very young age - from the first time I read the Joseph Smith story. I have had that knowledge reaffirmed every time I have read the Joseph Smith story and every time I have read the Book of Mormon. I can't imagine what my life would be like without the church. I am so grateful for the knowledge, perspective, blessings, and goodness that comes from my membership in the Church!

How I live my faith

I simply do the best I can. I'm not perfect, I sometimes become impatient with others and make other mistakes, but I just keep doing the best I can. I try to be honest in my dealings with my fellow man, live my life with integrity, study the scriptures, attend church regularly, fullfill my church callings to the best of my capability, be a faithful home teacher, attend the temple regularly, and follow the teachings of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and the teachings of the prophets.
