Hi I'm Cori

I am a full-time missionary in Indiana. A daughter. A journalist. A friend and I am a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Cori. I am an only child, but I have lots of little cousins that I spoil like siblings. I love to read, write, watch movies, play games with friends and family, and I love to create things! I am a recent journalism graduate and I have no idea what I want to do with my life, but I know that the Lord will show me the way. Currently I am serving as a missionary for His church and I hope to gain my Master's degree when I return home (although in what is still undetermined). If the whole journalism thing doesn't work out though I hope to own an animal shelter/rescue, or become a fire woman, although I will probably have to stick to being a journalist because I am a terrible business woman and I hate working out. My life motto: MAKE it a great day.(taken from my mother who is awesome).

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since I was born. Most of my family are active members of the church so it has been easy for me to want to stay. But just because my family is LDS is only a fraction of why I am a Mormon. I know that my Redeemer lives and I know that one day I will be able to have an eternal family of my own and live with my Father in Heaven, if I do all that He asks me to. I have already seen so many blessings in my life because of my faith in Him and His restored Gospel. I know that Jospeh Smith truly did see Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and that they called him to be a prophet. I also know that we have a prophet who speaks to us today. His name is Thomas S. Monson and although I have never met him, I know that He was called by God to teach us how to return to Christ. I also know that as I search the scriptures, pray daily and keep the commandments of God that I will not go astray. There are so many things in this world that would keep us from knowing our God, but I know that with His help and loving care I will be able to live with Him again.

How I live my faith

Currently the biggest way I am living my faith is by serving a mission! I know that the Lord has called me to Indiana for a reason. Even if I can't see that now I know that the Lord will let me know why when I need to know. Being away from my family for 18 months will be the hardest test of my faith in the Lord. I know that this experience is not going to be easy, but I know that it will help me become a better person, and I hope a better wife and mother when I meet Mr. Right. I pray every day for the Lord's guidance in my life and I read the scriptures every day to learn more of the important eternal truths that are inside them. I love going to church and to the temple where I can feel my Savior's love for me so strongly. The Lord has given me so many wonderful belssings and I would be ungrateful if I did not show my love to the Lord for what He has given me. "The Lord is my light, so why should I fear? By day and by night, I know that He is near!"
