Hi I'm Tanner

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Northern California but grew up mostly in the small towns of Eureka and Fallon Nevada. While in California my family went boating a lot. Because there were only about 10 boys in my class in Eureka I was needed for every sports team. I was often in 3-4 sports or activities at a time. After my parents divorced I moved with my mom to Fallon. I continued Soccer, wrestling, and track in high school and spent my summers wakeboarding. I went to school at BYU and BYU-Hawaii graduating in biochemistry. My mission was delayed when I found out I had live disease and ulcerative coalitis. I was able to serve in the Tacoma Washington Mission. I am now planning on becoming a pathologist.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and believed everything as if it were from a text book. I can't say I had any strong spiritual witnesses as a child but everything made sense and I felt comforted. I believed that Heavenly Father was watching over me and that there was a plan for me in life. In high school I was encouraged by my father to pay attention for the Spirit. I began to associate the Spirit with Church meetings and times when I could feel my testimony growing. I have never been extremely outgoing with my testimony but I noticed it getting stronger when shared with my friends. I felt enough personal revelation to inspire me to serve a mission despite opposition from my health and the idea that it would be better to finish my school while I still have health insurance under my parents. As I was set apart for my mission (also unknowingly at the time with a fractured back from a kayak accident) I was promised that my health would improve. That promise was fulfilled. Although I still have the disease, my health is stable and my labs are normal. My testimony also grew because of the wonderful people I met on my mission and the experiences I was able to share with them. I do not doubt that those who strive to follow Christ are blessed. Although there are many ways to come closer to Him the Spirit has taught me that Christ did appear to Joseph Smith and reveal Himself to him. I know that the Lord's messages are revealed thru the current church leaders. My life has more potential than I realize and I can only achieve my potential thru the Lord's help. I have faith that dedicating myself to the gospel is the only way I will obtain a fullness of joy.

How I live my faith

To live my faith, I try to serve others and increase my own faith. I set personal goals that will help me draw closer to Christ. I help out when needed at church and look for opportunities to help others in the community. At work I strive to be honest, so I never lose confidence with my employer. I am patient with others and try to understand their needs.
