Hi I'm Matt

I grew up in Colorado. I play any sport with a racket. I love guitar solos. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a family of seven. I have two brothers and two sisters. I am the middle child. I have yet to figure out what the advantages of being the middle kid are. Still working on that one. I graduated from high school even though I didn't really like school and I wasn't the best of students. I earned my Eagle Scout Award which is one of my greatest accommplishments in my opinion. It took heaps of effort and time so I feel like it's a big deal. I also enjoy music. I've come to realize my love and passion for music in the past couple of years. I am a classic rock junkie and love guitar solos. I can play guitar and hope to become an amazing player one day. I like to sing as well even though I may not have the greatest of voices. It's all about improvements right? As for my other hobbies, I basically like to do whatever seems like fun at the time. I enjoy games, eating food, camping, rock climbing, snowboarding and playing sport. My favorite sport is tennis! There's just something about smashing a ball with a racket that brings me great satisfaction. So that's just a little bit about me and what I do.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon! I'm sure you've heard that heaps by now but I'll tell you why I'm one. I grew up in the church my whole life and realized the things the church taught were good and made me and my family happy. However I didn't REALLY come to know the church was true until I actually READ the Book of Mormon. Who would've ever thought to actually read it?! Well, I didn't read it all the way through until my late teens and the earlier months into my two-year mission for the church. I realized that I felt something good and peaceful as I read through it's pages and I knew that the things it taught me were true principles. I often put myself into the shoes of the prophets and people who lived in those times and compare what they went through to my own life. It has really helped me find direction and answers to questions that most people have in the world. I am a Mormon because I've lived the principles of my church and I know they are true because I've put them to the test and seen my life change and become happier through them.

How I live my faith

One great thing I've realized about Mormons is that we aren't just "good people" on Sundays at church, but we live our religion everyday! One way that I've lived my faith is deciding to serve a full time mission for two years in Australia. You've probably seen those two guys in the white shirts and ties riding bikes or walking down the street hastling people. Yep, that's me! Because the teachings of the church have brought me and my family so much happiness I wanted to come out and share it with the world and help others find the same joy that I have. It's such a great feeling to see how the gospel changes people and that's probably one of the greatest blessings that comes from teaching people about Jesus Christ.
