Hi I'm Lindsey

I grew up in Oregon. I'm studying Political Science and International development. I want to save the world. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love reading. I would read all day if I could. But I can't, so I'm also in college and am majoring in Political Science with a minor in International Development. I'm not completly sure what I want to do with it, but I do know I want to help people. I love animals and I think that in another life I would have been a zookeeper. I'm the youngest of 5 and have been an aunt since I was 8. I have no athletict ablities but I love watching sports. My favorite is football. But only college, I don't like professional sports because at that level it is all about the money, fame, and glory, but in college it is about the game, and the team. I also love movies, I like them so much that I keep up on the most recent trailers online so I always know what movies are coming out months ahead. I have been very lucky and have worked at both a movie theater and a movie rental store. I was also a waitress for 8 months, that was not so lucky.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the guidance and joy it brings into my life. Through the gospel I can turn to God with any problems or sadness I experince and I can find answers and comfort. I feel like I don't know a lot about my future or how things are going to work out exactly but I do know that God knows and He has a plan for me. Anytime I am sad or confused there is someone who know exactly how I feel. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and he suffered all the pains, trials, and sins that I have or will experience. I like to feel understood and Christ understands me perfectly. I know that God is my loving Heavenly Father and that He will support me and help me through this life. Because I am a Mormon I am never alone.

How I live my faith

I've had several responsibilities in the church over the last few years. Twice I was a music choristor. This was diffificult for me becuase, although I can sing along to a tune, I don't have any special musical talents. Directing the music in two-four or six-eight ect., I was sure was beyond me. But with the Lord's help, which he will always give when we are willing to serve Him and place our faith in Him, I survived. I actually really enjoyed being able to pick out the Hymms we would sing each week. Most recently I taught the one-and-a-half to 3 year olds. That was an adventure. I use the word "taught" very loosely, I pretty much played with them for 1 hour, fed them snacks, told them a gospel story, and helped them draw pictures. It was a lot of fun and it was wonderful to spend time with such young and pure individuals. I often thought of the Lord's command to be like a little child. They are so innocent, loving, and trusting, it is such a blessing to associate with them.
