Hi I'm Dan

I'm a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was baptized in Saint David, Arizona.

About Me

Hi, My name is Dan and I am married to a wonderful woman, we have three children and seven wonderful grandchildren. I work at a research center as a research engineer technologist and have done so for the past 33 years. I enjoy hiking, fishing, golfing, flying and building airplanes and most importantly spending time with my children and grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church along with my three brothers and my sisters when I was almost 16. My mom and dad also joined the church. Dad did not stay active long and it was not long before I needed to find out for myself if the church was true. After several years of studying the Book of Mormon and pondering the question, I soon came to know that Jesus Christ had truly restored his church to the earth through Joseph Smith in the early 18 hundreds. Soon after my conversion, I met my wife to be and we were married in the Mesa AZ temple. Looking back over the past 30 plus years of our marriage this has been the single most important decision I have ever made. The blessings that have come to my family and me are too many to mention and some are very sacred and special. That being said I could not deny the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I will forever be grateful to the missionaries that knocked on our door and shared the wonderful message of the plan of salvation and that families can truly be together forever. My testimony is simply that it is true beyond any doubt.

How I live my faith

As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have had many opportunities to serve other members of the church and many individuals and families that are not members. I also had the opportunity to serve as a scoutmaster for many years and have witnessed many acts of kindness that helped shape young boys into great young men. I have also served in various callings in the church that have allowed me to reach out to individuals or families that have lost loved ones or just needed someone to be there during a difficult time, these have been some of the most rewarding experiences of my life. During many of these experiences, I was able to include my children in helping others both at church and in the community. The lessons they learned have been invaluable and helped them become the persons they are today. One of the greatest opportunities I have had is to teach the young men and young women of the church, the reason I say that is the truth of the matter is they have taught me more than I was able to teach them. I am grateful for the opportunities I have had to serve in the church and look forward to may more years of service.
