Hi I'm Jo

I was born in Ohio and grew up in California and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Ohio, our family moved to California in 1952.I have a son and daughter-in-law they are both wonderfully good people, we are a small but close family. My Sister and I are both retired and share the same home, she is a very special person and friend. We live in California less than a mile from the beach and love the ocean breeze and wonderful sunsets. I joined the church in December of 2010. That was the best decision I have ever made!!

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I know it is truly Gods church. I have been around members of the church for many years, off and on. My Sis and her husband have been members for over 50 years. I just wasn't interested in looking into it, I was living my life the way I wanted or the way I thought I wanted to live-work; party, play. About 7 years ago I moved to another state to help my Father, who was ill. I was there about 6 1/2 years when my Sis called and said she had been at the temple just setting quietly, when she heard a voice tell her that it was time, that I was ready. She rushed home to call me and asked if I'd like her to send the Missionaries to my home - without even thinking I said yes. I really needed something different in my life, I felt empty inside. The Missionaries were all so helpful and caring-answering any and all questions (anyone that knows me knows I have a lot of questions)---After a few months I knew the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was the true church of God and that was where I'd find happiness and peace. I was Baptized Dec. 2010 and confirmed the following Sunday. I pray to live my life so the Holy Spirit will always be with me and to follow the teachings of the Church so that someday my family will all be together for eternity. This I say in the name of our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen....

How I live my faith

The most important thing for me is to try daily to live my life the way our Lord would want me to. As one of the board members I have the chance to help organize party's and events for the church( FUN,FUN,FUN). This month I was ask to be a visiting teacher, this is totally new for me but I can hardly wait to help and share time with some of the other members-- what a special blessing. I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ for a year and I feel as tho I have found a second home with a wonderful new group of friends....
