Hi I'm Tim

I manage a business financing company. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a dad with 5 great children and a beautiful wife who inspires me to be a better person every day. I love mountain biking, hiking, and just being in the great outdoors. I have Bachelor's and Master's degrees and manage a business financing company. My wife is a very accomplished musician and plays piano and cello. My children all play musical instruments. I don't play any musical instruments at all. I wish I did and maybe someday I will have time to learn! I have a son going into the military soon. That worries me. I'm thankful to have a loving and perfect Father in Heaven and a loving Savior who understand my worries and on whom I can depend for comfort.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the church. I was considered a good kid growing-up and tried to do the right things. I just took for granted that the church was true. When I left for Argentina to serve a mission and teach others about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, I discovered that I didn't know of myself that the Book of Mormon was true. I determined that if I was to testify (sincerely and truthfully) of the truthfulness of the church, my testimony had to be based in the Book of Mormon. I followed the admonition of Moroni. I fasted and then I knelt down and asked my Father in Heaven with a sincere heart and real intent in the name of Jesus Christ if the Book of Mormon was true. With all the energy of my soul I wanted to know that answer. My question was answered as the Holy Ghost bore powerful witness to me. I rose from my knees able to testify, of myself, that the Book of Mormon is indeed, another testament of Jesus Christ and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is God's church on the earth today. I will never forget that experience or the countless times since as the Holy Ghost has witnessed that the fullness of the gospel has been restored to the earth.

How I live my faith

I love serving in the church and helping in the community in great projects. My wife and I donate a portion of our income each month to the humanitarian efforts of the church. I've had the chance to serve in many ways throughout the years; all without compensation. I even served as a bishop (local leader) of what is called a ward. That's just a local group of church members. That was a service opportunity that took a lot of time, but I didn't get paid for the time I spent. I did it willingly. Eventually someone else was asked to do that and I have gone on to other opportunities within my area. We take care of each other and help where needed. That's part of our belief and cultural structure. We don't just care for members of the church, however. We extend service to members of all faiths where needed. My wife, as a musician, plays the organ and piano and visits other ladies throughout the area to make sure they are doing ok. I get to visit families in our area each month and someone looks in on my family too.
