Hi I'm Ashley

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Utah, I have five brothers, and I'm in dental school in Nebraska.

About Me

I grew up in Utah, and I'm the oldest daughter with five younger brothers. They are pretty crazy sometimes, but I love them! Because I have lots of brothers we did a lot of things like riding four wheelers, going up the mountain, hiking, skeet shooting, boating, and skiing. I went to school in Salt Lake and studied biology. Now I'm in dental school, and I'm getting close to graduating. I'm excited to be done with school, and I love working as a dentist. Some of my favorite hobbies besides dentistry include reading, watching movies, singing, playing the piano, and finding random projects around the house. I love music, and my favorite artist is probably Bob Marley, but I've been known to listen to a wide variety of music. My favorite color is blue, and my favorite food is sushi!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Gospel, and I was lucky enough to grow up with the wonderful examples of my parents. I was always involved in church growing up, but I didn't really start to develop my own testimony until I started Seminary my Freshman year of high school. It was there that I really started to study and understand the scriptures for myself. I truly came to understand and love my Savior, and I began to realized what it meant to live my life following Him. When I moved away from home to go to college, my testimony had its first real test. I had to decide if I was going to continue going to church even though my parents weren't there to make sure I went. There were several times when it was really difficult to make myself stay involved, but I found that I was the most happy when I was striving to live my life in a way that was pleasing to the Lord. As I started making important decisions in my life, I developed a very strong testimony of the power of prayer. I came to rely on the Lord, and I am so grateful to understand that I can always turn to the Lord in prayer, and He will always help guide me. As I have continued to study the scriptures I have come to a greater understanding of the Atonement. I am constantly grateful for the Savior and for His sacrifice, and for the ability we have to repent and try again. I know that He loves each one of us individually, and there have been many times in my life where there literally was no one I could turn to except my Savior. I have a deep testimony of Joseph Smith, and I am so grateful for his example, and for the Book of Mormon. I know they are true, and I am so grateful for the truths that are contained within. I am thankful for this Church, and for the direction and guidance it gives to my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by living the standards of the gospel, and doing my best to follow the example of Christ. I also live my faith by attending a ward and trying to stay actively involved. Right now I am in charge of the women's organization in my ward, which truly gives me a chance to get to know all the women in our ward, and help reach out to them. It is often a lot of fun, and I am grateful for all the friendships I have made. I also live my faith by trying to be open about it, and sharing what I know with those around me.
