Hi I'm Katie

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom of 5 young children, ages 3 - 11. I just completed two sprint triathlons this summer and absolutely loved it! Life is a whirl wind around here between helping at the kids various schools, taking care of my children and our home, being the Cub Scout Bear leader, getting our family all of the places we need to be, and training for races. I love being a mother and wife. I love knowing that our family can be together forever. I love having a foundation of principals that I expect my children to live and knowing that most of their friends families are expecting the same things from them.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a Mormon since I was born. I grew up in the suburbs of St. Louis, MO where there weren't very many kids around who were members of my church. In fact, I was the only Mormon in my school for most of my years. Everyone always knew what I stood for and expected my standards to be high. During my high school years, I prayed to Heavenly Father, asking him to let me know that The Book of Mormon and His church were true. I received confirmation through the warm, peaceful feeling of the Holy Ghost that these things are true and are from our Father in Heaven. As I have matured, my testimony has grown. I have a testimony of the temples and of the covenants that we make with our Heavenly Father in them. I have a testimony that the temples are where families are brought together and bound together for all eternity, and through all generations. I know that we have a living prophet on the earth that leads and guides us. I know that he shares with us the things that God wants us to know. I have a testimony of the Atonement of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that because of this beautiful gift, through repentance and living right, I can return to live with my Father in Heaven again, and be with my family forever. I know that the Priesthood which was on the earth in Jesus time is on the earth today, and miracles happen all the time. I am thankful for the knowledge that I have. I am thankful for the peace and happiness that the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings into my life. I am thankful to know that all of the many blessing I have are from a loving Father in Heaven who knows and loves me individually. I know He is mindful of my needs and concerns. I know I am a child of God.

How I live my faith

In our home we do our best to read scriptures and pray together every evening. It gives our family time to sit together and decompress at the end of the day -- all while coming closer to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. We receive callings in our church, responisbilities that we donate our time and talents to. Currently, I am the working with the 9 year old boys as a Cub Scout leader. I love working with the kids! They are the best!
