Hi I'm Blane

I'm a paintballer, an Arizonan, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am the youngest of four sisters and one brother on my mom's side of the family, and my dad has two other daughters that I met for the first time last year. I love to hang out with my friends. My favorite hobbies involve listening to music, paintballing, going to the shooting range, and playing sports. Particularly football and baseball. I am currently serving a mission, but before I left home I went to 3 semesters of college. After my mission is complete I want to join the United States Marine Corps and I would love to fly a fighter aircraft. I have brief flight experience and I love it already.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church at the age of 13. At the time, my Dad was a alcoholic and my Mother and I felt it was time to move on. We moved to Menno, South Dakota, where one of my sisters' lived at the time. One of my first days in the state, the missionaries showed up on the door and I began learning about the gospel of Jesus Christ. It felt so familiar as I learned of it that I just couldn't shake the feeling I had heard it all before. I began to read from The Book of Mormon and after reading it's contents knew I needed to pray as directed. I recieved my answer through the power of the Holy Ghost and I know with an absolute certainty that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints IS the true gospel of Jesus Christ that he established while he was in his mortal ministry.

How I live my faith

Currently I am on a full time 2 year mission for the Church. I study scriptures daily, pray throughout the day, go to church and all those basic things to build upon my faith in Jesus Christ. The best opportunity lies within serving others. Though I am far from perfect, I do my best to follow Christ's example of his love for everyone of us. I do what I can to view everyone I talk to throughout the day as a child of God and love them as a fellow brother or sister of God. In the scriptures, the prophets teach that when we are in the service of your fellow being, we are only in the service of God. I pray and hope that I can continue in serving those around me to the best of my ability and striving to follow Christ's example.

What is the priesthood?

The priesthood is authority given to act in God's name. It's the same priesthood authority that Jesus Christ and His apostles held when they taught the gospel, healed the sick, and baptized anyone into the church. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is scripture of God that testifies of Jesus Christ as God's Son. Just as the Bible consists of prophets that testify of Jesus Christ in Jerusalem and Jesus Christ's own teachings during his mortal ministry, the Book Of Mormon contains writings of ancient prophets on the American continent. It contains teachings from Jesus Christ Himself once he appeared to these people after His resurrection. The Book of Mormon does not replace the Bible but rather supports the Bible. People everywhere are invited to read, ponder and then pray about the Book of Mormon to know of its truthfulness and divinity just as people are invited to do the same for the Bible. We are promised that as we follow the prophets invitation and thus follow the Lord's invitation, that the Holy Ghost will bear the truthfulness of this book as true word of God. Show more Show less
