Hi I'm Marla

I'm a mother of 4. I married my best friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am in my ninth year of learning how to be a parent. I am always on the lookout for examples and ideas to help me in my struggle with teaching my kids to get along and become great people. I love to play the piano and have taught piano lessons to a few kids as well. In college I studied Humanities, so I love art, literature, and music; and I am trying to pass on that love to my kids.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS church but not raised with the example of parents who followed the teachings closely. As a teenager I struggled greatly with feeling loved. I had a cousin who lived the gospel and always was a wonderful friend and example. She helped me go to church, read the Book of Mormon, and pray. Eventually I came to know, through prayer, that my Father in Heaven really loves me. I felt it so strongly that I decided to serve a mission to share that love with others. Nearly every day since I am reminded of that love in the beautiful world around me, and most especially in the love I feel from my husband and children. I want to be with them eternally and I believe that living the gospel of Jesus Christ is the way to reach that goal.

How I live my faith

I live my faith trying to be like Jesus. I try to not judge others but to see them as lovingly as He does. I try to teach my children to serve our neighbors and set a good example for their friends. I look for opportunities to answer questions about the church and invite friends to come to activities.
