Hi I'm Jessica

I'm from Oregon, I teach elementary school kids to sing, I love life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to sing at the top of my lungs. I love to tap dance in my kitchen - I'm not very good, but I do it anyways. I am not very organized, but I wish I was. I play the ukulele - I learned by watching Youtube videos. You should try it, it's a fun instrument. I teach music at an elementary school to about 700 students. I think it is the most wonderful job in the world. I get to sing and play and teach these wonderful children and learn so much from them every day. I love living! It may sounds crazy or hokey, but I really really do. It's a wonderful life.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that the teachings of this gospel are true. I know that because of the peace that following correct principles brings to my life. I have felt the craziness of a ungrounded life and I know that life is better when it is built upon the foundation of Christ and his gospel.

How I live my faith

I try my best to better myself through church worship, delving into the words of God in his scriptures, and helping others. I try to better others by putting my best foot forward when with others. I want to emphasize the word try in these sentences. Sometimes in tiny moments I succeed, sometimes I fail. I live my faith when I fail as I repent and move forward, trying to become better the next time. Right now I am serving in the church in the Relief Society, the organization for women. I love this organization! I feel so loved and full of love for the sisters in the Relief Society. Although it takes time to serve each other, doing so brings me closer to the sisters and to my Heavenly Father. It makes me better.

Are Mormons Christians?

If being a Christian means knowing that Jesus of Nazareth was, in fact, the literal son of God who was sent here to this earth to atone for all of our sins, then yes. If being a Christian means working your whole life to become more like He was, the perfect example for us to follow, then yes. If being a Christian means knowing that through His sacrifice we can repent of our imperfections so that we can inherit eternal life after this mortal existence, then yes. Yes, I am a Christian.
