Hi I'm Tia B

I am currently attending a university to study Computer Science and Aerospace Engineering. I love being a mormon!

About Me

All of my life I have loved two things, Technology and Music. I was, and still am, considered the brainiac of the family. I am now studying Computer Science and Aerospace Engineering. However, I obtained an Associates of Science with an emphasis in Music Education at a community college before moving on to a university. All through high-school i was involved in everything. I was on the soccer team, the swim team, two bands, two choirs, and I got a 3.7 GPA to top it off. College has been fun but it has also been hard and I believe that I have grown extensively from it! I have three sisters and no brothers, even my dog is a female miniature poodle/maltese! My poor dad... I am the youngest of my three sisters.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon not only because I grew up in the church, but also because I gained my own testimony outside of my parents'. I know that we are all loved by our Heavenly Father and that he loves each and every one of us. I have felt the love of our Savior, Jesus Christ through the healing powers of the atonement. Even when life gets us down and we feel like there is nothing we can do to bring ourselves back up and to the light, our Savior reaches out to us, through the atonement, and lifts us back onto our feet, but we have to ask for his help. I love our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and everything that he has done for us. He has suffered so that we won't have to at our judgement day. He is our advocate before our Heavenly Father. Heavenly Father will serve Justice but our Savior will provide mercy. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love each and every one of us!

How I live my faith

I participate in the many single's ward activities that are offered such as ward prayer. This is where all the members get together Sunday night to say a prayer and then to mingle afterwards. This is a great opportunity because it allows members living at college away from home to feel like they have a family to rely upon. I also participate in the ward and institute (Institute is like a school for Mormons) choirs which brings joy and the spirit into my busy daily schedule.

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Tia B
Our bodies are called temples of God because it is the home of our spirit which is pure and eternal. Since the body and soul are one, we have to take care of one in order to take care of the other. Defiling our bodies, or our temple, can lead to defiling our spirits in one way or another. God has given us something call agency, which is the freedom to choose, addictive substances such as tobacco or alcohol can take away our agency and therefore the freedom to choose between right and wrong. In the end, taking care of your body can also take care of your spirit so that you can feel peace inside. Peace is the one emotion that Satan cannot duplicate. Show more Show less
