Hi I'm Erika

I love being a Mormon!

About Me

I am a 31-year-old wife and mother. I have a studly lacrosse player, Josh, for a husband and THREE funny little sons ages 7, 4 and 2. I graduated from WSU, GO COUGS, with a degree in Public Relations though the only "spinning" I do nowadays involves vegetable disguising! I know inappropriate amounts of Star Wars nonsense and all the words to the TMNT theme song. My vice is "The Office" I watch an episode every night, it never gets old! In my free time I love to read, run, organize, decorate and blog!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in a Mormon family. I chose to continue to live His gospel because I know it's the only way to return to live with my Heavenly Father. Through the Savior's atonement I feel his overwhelming love for me and it gives me the strength and courage to face the day to day challenges of being a wife and mother. His plan helps me and my family navigate a difficult and painful world. Though we still face obstacles, being a Mormon has given me the best tool set to gracefully tackle any obstacle the adversary places in my path.

How I live my faith

I love my faith because every member is part of teaching and sharing the gospel. Since we have no paid clergy, we all step up and assume responsibility for caring for our Lord's sheep! I am currently working with the youth, particularly young women 16-18. I enjoy being involved in their lives. They face terrifying challenges in an increasingly dangerous world and I am continually amazed by their ability to stand up for what they believe in. I hope I am able to offer support to what their parents are already teaching them. I like to think I offer a third party perspective that supplements the already daunting challenge of raising teenagers. Heavenly Father's plan provides for community support in raising children. Support that I welcome!
