Hi I'm Brenda

I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and professional who loves helping change lives.

About Me

I was raised on a farm and have a love of animals and the open spaces. My husband, toddler, puppy, and I love to spend time together. We laugh and have adventure everyday, be it in our fixer-upper backyard, backpacking in the mountains, or visiting the local art museum. Personally, I find meaning and purpose in my life through helping others make positive changes that lead them to rediscover their life's potential. Professionally, I use recreation as a form of therapy to assist this process. I am a wife, mother, musician, want-to-be cook, rafter, mountain bike lover, high-purple belt karate kid, family history fan, listener, and friend. I am a Mormon and like to smile!

Why I am a Mormon

Everyone searches for the purpose of life...I've found it in the teachings of Jesus Christ. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has assisted me in developing a deeper and more personal relationship with God. I believe that all people are children of God and as any loving parent, He wants us to develop to our greatest potential, becoming like Him. Our lives are part of the 'becoming' process where we are stretched, pushed, and challenged to choose what we will become. God allows us to choose to become like Him and inherit all that He has or not. The choice is simple...the implementation of that choice is not. God knew 'becoming' would be difficult and did not leave us here to fail. God provided us a Savior, Jesus Christ. Through His teachings and the gift of the atonement I can receive the purifying strength of forgiveness as I am led, often times stumbling, to my full potential. Life is hard. I know if one can find Truth and develop a personal relationship with our Exemplar, Jesus Christ life can be more than endured, it can be refined, purified, and reflect the majesty of Christ's life and mission.

How I live my faith

I love people. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints leads people to have a more personal relationship with Christ and that is often accomplished through serving others. I've been blessed to serve men, women, and children by providing meals to families after a baby is born, coordinating funeral services for the grieving, befriending refugees and assisting them in navigating the American system. I've also had the opportunity to prepare humanitarian items including blankets, bandages, hygiene kits, and comfort packages that were distributed to people in need all over the world. I look to Christ as my example of demonstrating love to others. I try to serve people in personally significant ways.
