Hi I'm Rich

I am an Electrical Engineer. I care about God, family, and country. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a wonderful wife and two young daughters. I enjoy learning from them and having memorable experiences with them. They bring me great joy. We strive to live our lives so that our family will be eternal. I graduated from college with a Masters' degree and enjoy learning about the world, technology, politics, current events, and personal finance. I try to exercise regularly and to keep my physical body clean and healthy. I am working with my wife to finish the basement in our home.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I know he restored the Church of Jesus Christ to the Earth in 1830. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God and that he received other revelations. I know these things as a result of personal study and prayer to my Heavenly Father. He blessed me with the fruits of the Spirit such as feelings of love, peace, and joy in answer to my prayers. Because God gave me a personal answer to my prayers, I know He loves me and that He is indeed my Heavenly Father and that has a plan for His children. I feel closer to Jesus Christ, when I worship him at Church, strive to always remember him and study his words and the words of his prophets and Apostles. The account of the Savior suffering for my sins as recorded in the New Testament humbles me. I know from personal experience that I am not perfect. I know that I can repent and that the Lord forgives me when I forsake my sins and follow Him. I also know that Jesus Christ was resurrected. I love the account of His visit to the American continent as recorded in the Book of Mormon. I know that because of His resurrection, that all people will in due time be resurrected and that knowledge gives me peace. It also gives me hope, when I have lost a loved one, that death is a temporary separation. Living in complex and confused society makes me very grateful that there is a living prophet on Earth today. I know Thomas S. Monson is the Lord's prophet and that I will be blessed and protected by following his counsel just as the children of Israel were blessed when they followed the counsel of Moses. I invite you to study the Book of Mormon, to learn about the prophet Joseph Smith and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; then ask God in prayer and He will let you know through the power of the Holy Ghost that these things are true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by patterning my life after the gospel of Jesus Christ. Though I am not perfect, I know the Savior wants me to follow His example by keeping commandments and by serving others. Attending Church regularly, studying the scriptures daily, and personal prayer to God give me strength and helps me remember my Savior. I enjoy meeting with two or three families each month in their home. We get to know each other better and help each other in learning the gospel and studying the words of modern prophets.
