Hi I'm Jenness

I grew up in Utah, but have lived in Colorado for the last 18 years. I love the Rocky Mountains. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love spending time outdoors with my family and friends. Hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, and skiing are some of the activities that I enjoy in the Colorado mountains. My wife and three children also love the outdoors and it is a great place for us to spend time together away from the busy schedules that we all have.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that true happiness is found by following the teachings of Jesus Christ. Each one of us has to determine what the purpose of life is and how we can best follow the plan that our Heavenly Father has for us. Parts of my family have been members of the LDS Church since before the Mormon pioneers came across the plains to the Salt Lake Valley. Other parts of my family have become LDS Church members relatively recently. I appreciate all of them and the legacy that they have left me. In the end, however, everyone has to decide for themselves what they believe is right and how they will live their lives. I find that the teachings and doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints provide answers to some of life's biggest questions such as "who am I" and "what is my purpose here?". I'm a Mormon because I believe that this is where the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is found.

How I live my faith

I do my best to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. I fall woefully short, but I find that there is happiness to be found even in trying. I've had the opportunity to do many different things to help serve in the church. Currently, I have the great opportunity to work with the Boy Scout Troop that our congregation sponsors. What a great opportunity to work with boys as they are learning to be men and hopefully make a difference for the better in their lives.
