Hi I'm Deelee

I grew up in Denver Colorado, and am now a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to write, read, sing, and hang out with friends. I love to help people and animals in need. I am a second year college student at a community college. After school I hope to become a writer and/or study abroad in either Europe or Asia! And also I want to become an English teacher in Japan. I love jokes and games, and anything to make people laugh.

Why I am a Mormon

For a long time I grew up with good Christian principals I learned from my mom and dad. But I never felt 100%, something was missing. After moving to another state I met my best friend and she introduced me to the LDS Church through young women's activities. A few years later I decided that I wanted to learn even more about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and talked to missionaries. I felt so happy, happier than I had ever been, I knew then that this was the Church for me. I feel better about myself and what I stand for, and I know that the people who are close to me and not members, can see how the lessons I have been taught and my knowledge of the gospel has blessed me with happiness. I am closer to Heavenly Father now than I ever have been before, and I always want to keep getting closer!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by always having hope. Without hope, what do we have? I fulfilled my calling as a chorister and loved it! Music helps bring me closer to the Lord and fills me with joy. Additionally I love to have the opportunity every month to visit three members of my ward as a visiting teacher. Talking to these women has taught me a lot about myself! I live and love the Word of Wisdom, and strive to always be worthy to enter the Temple. I enjoy giving service to other by helping out with projects or by just being a friend to talk to.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

On Sundays members dress nicely, dresses or skirts and a nice top (modest ones of course) for the women, and slacks, dress shirts, and blazers for the men (suits typically). Kids also usually dress nicely as well. We dress as well as we can to show our respect to for the Sabbath day, to Heavenly Father. We celebrate Easter and Christmas, and other holidays and special celebrations (such as anniversaries and birthdays). And depending on the country, whatever that particular country celebrates as well. Show more Show less
