Hi I'm Clark

I grew up in Rochester NY, went to school out West, and now I'm a med student somewhere in between. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right now I don't have a lot of time since I'm in the midst of med school in Chicago IL, but I find it is important to put the most important things first. Aside from my obligations for school I love spending time with my wife, hanging out with friends, playing and watching sports, speaking French, and reading when I get the chance.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family of very faithful members of the LDS Church, but when I was 15 I wanted to figure out what I believed for myself. I decided to read the Book of Mormon and pray to know if it was true. I didn't think I was getting an answer until one day after reading I was laying in my bed thinking about what I had just read. I felt a really calm feeling of peace and comfort that confirmed to me that what I was reading was true. I also realized that I had felt that same feeling many times in my life: at church, with my family, and even reading the scriptures. I learned that that feeling was the Holy Ghost testifying to me of truth and I have felt it time and time again in my life confirming to me that the LDS Church is the true church of God on the earth.

How I live my faith

I try my best to help others and to be honest in every situation I'm in. In fact, a big reason that I went into medicine was so that I could have a career where I could help people. But even more important, I believe that living my faith isn't just something I just do on Sunday, it's an every day thing. Whether that means saying hi to the person in the elevator, listening to a friend's story, holding the door open for someone, or helping a mother carry her stroller down the stairs, there are small things that we can do to show our love for those around us. I feel it's that love and service that shows what I believe and who I am trying to follow- Jesus Christ.

What is faith?

Clark
According to the scriptures, faith is a hope for things that aren't seen but are true. That means that faith is something that we all have since it allows us to live every day life. I have faith that my boss will pay me when I put in a day's work and that the light will turn on if I flip the switch. We have to act on things all the time where we can't see the direct results. Although we can have faith in lots of things, it is most important to have faith in God and Jesus Christ. When we trust in who they are and what they say, even though we may not see them, we can have wonderful blessings from that faith. By learning about them and following their commandments I am happier than I could ever imagine. Show more Show less
