Hi I'm Georgia

I live in Milwaukee area. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of four and have three grandchildren that are a great joy in my life. I enjoy reading, doing crafts, taking walks with my husband and I especially enjoy watching movies. I like the kind of books and movies in which the characters run into a challenge in their life but manage to rise above it and come out on top. I like the happy ending. I feel that life is just like that. I have had struggles but as I've sought for guidance from the Lord he has provided ways to help me rise above them and become a better person in the process.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 23 my sister had joined the church and went on a mission to Japan. I was really impressed that she would leave her family and friends and make that sacrifice for what she believed. When she came back she asked me to read the Book of Mormon. I read the book in about a week and took the missionary discussions too. I did a lot of praying to find out if it was true and I came to know for myself that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that Heavenly Father not only hears our prays but he answers them too. He wants us to know the truth and he gave it to me because I asked.

How I live my faith

My faith is more of a life style than anything else. It's what drives me to do the things I do. Over the 30 years that I have been in the church I have had the opportunity to serve others not only at church and in my home but in my neighborhood. I've learned that serving is a rewarding experience. I've taught Sunday school to adults and children and I get excited when I see that they have felt the spirit. It is such an privilege to be His instrument as I serve. My husband and I were sealed in the temple when we began our journey as a married couple. That has been a strength since we have the goal to be together forever. To know that my family and I will someday dwell together with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ is a great comfort. I usually start and end my day in prayer. That communication is vital to me. I feel that I am guided all day as I try to be like Jesus. I also read my scriptures each morning, I've developed a habit to read my scriptures before I get out of bed each day, but I have to say it is more. I get lost in the stories and lives that I read about and it strengthens me. I love this gospel and am grateful that I have it in my life. It has made all the difference.
