Hi I'm Krisy

I work for a publishing company, I love design and writing, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to read. I love to write. I love design and am in love with bright colors. I love traveling and am planning an exciting trip to Europe with my husband. I love wakeboarding and sunshine. I also love snowboarding and am a certified snowboarding instructor, but I don't cope well with the cold weather! My husband teases me because it takes 0.02 seconds for me to begin shivering. I love music and have played the piano for over twenty years. I am still enthralled with my childhood dream that one day I'll grow up to be a famous musician! Speaking of childhood fascinations, I love all birthdays and holidays, causing me to revert back to my five-year-old self's enthusiasm levels. I have a fabulous life and my favorite part of it is my husband. I love him a lot. He's my very best friend.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have learned for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches the same truth taught by the Savior when He was on the earth. I am a very curious person with tons of questions constantly rolling around in my brain. My church encourages me to have questions, find answers and seek truth. I have always been a Christian but a time came in my life when my nondenominational youth group couldn't answer all the questions I had. I began looking into other churches, seeking for a more complete truth. I read the Book of Mormon and was invited to pray and ask God. I felt an indescribable peace and warmth. I learned that I can seek for truth and receive answers from our loving Father in Heaven through personal revelation. The church's teachings have helped me to become a better wife, sister, daughter, friend and neighbor--a better disciple of Christ. I know that we need a living prophet in this confusing world. I am grateful for the clarity that the prophet brings to confusing issues. I know my Savior lives and I am grateful for His Gospel.

How I live my faith

Currently, my husband and I are volunteer teachers for the six- and seven-year-olds in our congregation. It is amazing to see the faith and sincerity of children. Prior to this opportunity, I have also been asked to volunteer as a teacher for adults, perform musical numbers in the main meetings and also to play the piano while the congregation sings hymns. The best part of being a member of this Church is the way in which our talents are utilized. We are all given opportunities to volunteer our abilities to helping the congregation. Everyone in our congregation helps out and no one gets paid - not even the bishop, the leader of the local congregation. Because I can do musical things, I am given the opportunity to share my talents. But I have also been asked to do things I don't feel quite so confident in, which allows me to grow and become a more well-rounded individual.

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

Krisy
Marriage and family is an important part of the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Husband and wife have the opportunity to work together in creating a home that can serve as a safe place for children and friends. While men and women have separate roles in the family, they are equally important to their family and to God. Show more Show less
