Hi I'm Alex Wheaton

I'm a Missionary. I'm a son, a brother, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

When I was fifteen I helped build roofs for my friends and neighbors. Florida just had one of the worst hurricane seasons ever. Helping others means alot to me. I'm one of those crazy people who liked school. I loved learning and reading books and most of all I loved math. I wanted to do what I love so I looked at what different careers involved math and then I saw another space shuttle go up. I knew that I wanted to be a part of that. I've always seen them go up but before I thought that I could do that. So from then on thats what I've been working for. I love watching movies, hanging out with my family, and laughing so hard my sides hurt. I love to run too. I'm not fast but I ran cross country and track and my favorite sport to play is soccer. I may not win races but I have fun and thats what matters to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints but it took me a while to know of myself that it is true. I know it is true. I was one of maybe four members in my high school. I never had any mormon friends growing up. It would have been fairly easy not to go to church or go to a different one. I visited some of my friends' churches and for some reason it didn't feel right. I was twenty when I really got my answer that this was true. I read The Book of Mormon all the way through for the first time. The feeling I got was the best thing I've ever felt in my life. I knew I wanted to have that feeling all the time. I knew I could keep it by living the true gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving the Lord as a missionary in the Tucson, Arizona Mission. I know that this is the best way I could possibly serve others at this point in my life. What I didn't realize was how much I could help myself. I have grown more socially, emotionally, and spiritually in the last few months than I have my whole life. I consider myself blessed more than I can express. Understanding exactally how much the Gospel of Jesus Christ can change other people and myself, that is what Heavenly Father wants for all his children. And I am lucky enough to be a part of that.
