Hi I'm Brigham

I have lived in Utah, DC, Maryland, Sicily and San Diego. I live, I love, I laugh. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a son, a brother, and a friend. I am Majoring in Math and Physics and minoring in Music and love all aspects of the universe. The more I learn about the infinity of space, the more I understand the wisdom of God. I served a mission from July 2009- July 2011 in San Diego, California where I learned Spanish. I learned how to love the Gospel and to share it with those around me. I learned to love the Hispanic people, as well as those with whom I served. I have a deep passion for music. I feel that it communicates feelings and emotions that are understood no other way. I feel great when I sing and play the piano. I love to listen to music as I improve my physical and mental health. I love nature and traveling, life is too good to stay put! I love to learn about languages and culture, I feel that there is so much to be discovered from people of other races and backgrounds. In summer 2005 I went to Camp Rising Sun- an 8 week multicultural program focused on global understanding and unity.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the Church. But when I was a teenager I had to learn for myself if God existed and if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was true or not. As I studied the Book of Mormon, reflected within my heart, and prayed for my answer, I started to feel that it was true. I continued to put what I learned into practice and found that when I did so I was a much happier person. I continue to exercise my faith as I believe in my Heavenly Father and follow his son Jesus Christ. I have learned about the importance of covenants- promises- with God. A covenant is made by a religious act or ordinance, such as baptism. I was baptized when I was eight years old, in which I promised to follow Jesus Christ and live his commandments. After I was baptized I received the Holy Ghost. When I was nineteen, I made sacred covenants with God in the Washington, DC temple. I have seen many blessings come from making and keeping promises with God. As life continues I learn many things. The most important of all of them is that Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of the world. I know that as I build my life using principles such as faith, hope, love, diligence, patience, obedience, virtue, pure knowledge and humility my character is strengthened and fortified. I know that when I make mistakes I can always repent-change for the better- and be forgiven of my sins. As I follow Jesus Christ I draw closer to him, I come to know and love him more, and I come to love and help those around me.

How I live my faith

As a missionary I taught those around me about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I continue to do that even thought I am no longer in San Diego or wearing a name tag and tie. I also teach people about the temple and the covenants that are made there. On a monthly basis I fellowship and teach families in the congregation, I answer any questions they may have about the Gospel and help them in times of need. I love to serve in whatever capacity I am called. I attend the temple and church once a week to remember the promises I have made. I also attend the Spanish congregation in my area and help in any way there. I continue to live my life in such a way that I will be worthy of the Spirit of the Lord and his guidance.
