Hi I'm Marcus

I am a six foot ten basketball player. I have a refugee brother from Sudan. I am serving a mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am six foot nine and I play basketball. I am waiting to play college basketball until after my mission. I love model trains and the outdoors, really anything active. I have a refugee brother from Sudan who I have known for about two years. I love serving the lord, I was a seminary council president for my school and I am now serving a mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm not perfect but I do my best. I have been a member since I was born but became really converted at about age 14. I was reading through the first vision and I was wanting to know if this was real and I came across "I have learned for myself" I felt the spirit and knew that this was real and that it was true. I have had many experiences with the church since then. I am no prophet, apostle, or even a bishop, but have my testimony numbered among Gods chosen from Adam to Thomas S. Monson that Jesus is the Christ. That God lives and loves all of his children and does all he can to help them. I have learned for myself that this is the only true church and that there is no other way to return to him save it be through Jesus Christ. I have heard the voice of the lord and have felt his presence and power. I stand as a witness now and forever more of these things in el nombre de JesuCristo. Amen.

How I live my faith

I have been quorum presidents since I was a deacon. I was called as a seminary council president for my school and was able to serve as an Elders quorum teacher until I left for my mission. I am currently an Elder bringing forth the Lords word to all nations, kindreds, and tongues. All of my time is dedicated to the lord and his children. I study for about six hours a day to be prepared to teach and help others. The rest of the day is for teaching others that Jesus is the Christ and that through faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism, recieving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end we can live with him again. I hold the same title as the apostles hold (Elder). I have been set apart from the world to teach his children.

What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

I was able to work at the Bishop Central Storehouse and have seen the work in action and was able to be a part of it. Its purpose is to care for all of Gods children around the world who are truly in need, allowing them to become self relient and get on their own two feet. Show more Show less
