Hi I'm Mark Hanson

I'm a bowler. I like To be with friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Mark Hanson. I'm a college graduate from a community college in Ventura County, California. I love to be with friends and to be with family. My life has been full of excitement and sadness, but overall it is good. I have friends in and out of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The difficult thing for me though is trying to bring up the church in a casual way during a conversation. I have done it while on my mission when I served at the Los Angeles Temple Family History Center. I also have learned a great deal of information on genealogy. A difficult thing for me to do as well is want to teach the ward that I'm in about it, but I don't want to get too hard or make them feel like they have to do it because then it won't be fun to do.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints since I was born. I haven't really known what it would be like to not be a member of this church because I've been in it my entire life. I really enjoy this Gospel of Jesus Christ because it is truly alive and lives in us once we apply it to our lives and see the blessings that come with it. One or two of the things that I have learned while being in this Gospel is that You can always ask for help on anything and or everything that you need help with. From understanding what to do next for a calling to what to do in case of emergency when disaster strikes. This Gospel has also allowed me to serve a mission. This is a special event that both young men and women have when they are 19 and 21. My mission was different from the normal 2 year missions. I was called to be a Church service misssionary. That means that I don't proselyte and knock doors, but it means I get to help with things like genealogy to working within the welfare program the church has worldwide.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith is by serving in church callings. Currently I am a genealogy specialist for my ward in the Granada Hills Stake in California. I have also served as a second counselor in the Melchezidek Priesthood group in the ward before the one I currently am in now. Since I am a young Single Adult, I go to the Singles Ward in the stake. I also live the Gospel of Jesus Christ by sharing my testimony with others and learning each week more about the Gospel. I also strive to keep all of the commandments the the Lord revealed to Moses. I also live my faith by going to the temple of the Lord as often as I can to do work for the dead and for myself. This Gospel is alive in me and alive in all of us if we just ask for it and recieve the missionaries to teach it to you and to me. I testify the teh Book of Mormon is the word of God as well as the Bible. I testify that joseph Smith restored all of this Church by the help of the Lord and Jesus Christ. I testify that Thomas S. Monson is the Prophet on the earth today and that the temple is a place of love and beauty. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
