Hi I'm Lin

I am a wife, a mother of five and a grandmother of 3. I love to create with my hands. I love kids and I am a Mormon

About Me

Perhaps the greatest joy in my life is my love of children. I love to be surrounded by children. They are innocent, honest, tender and delightful. I love to hear a baby laugh and children giggle. My grandchildren bring me such joy as I watch them grow and learn and develop their personalities. I also love to create. I enjoy knitting and quilting, pottery and weaving. I love to learn to do things I have not done before. It gives me great satistifaction to be able to take a bunch of "stuff: and create something with it. I love to read. To curl up with a good book is a treat for me. I grew up in a military home and so I was never able to live in one spot for too long. While it gave me such wonderful opportunities, it was also hard to make new friends so often. Now, looking back, I see how my family was blessed. Everywhere we go, we have friends. As an adult, I have put my roots down and love that I have lived in the same spot for so long.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been blessed to have been a Mormon all my life. My childhood was filled with Family Home Evenings, Family Prayer, Family Scripture reading. We planted gardens, took meals in to those who sick, babysit, sang in ward choirs, did roadshows and sports. The church provided all I needed growing up. As an adult, I am blessed to have the gospel strong in my own home. The Priesthood is in my home which allows me to be blessed, healed from illnesses, protected from harm. I am grateful for a husband who is worthy to have the authority to act in my Heavenly Father's name. I am grateful for the knowledge that the gopsel gives me the opportunity to have an eternal family...that through the temple, I can be sealed to my family for eternities. When I was 19, I lost my older brother. He was my best friend. My testimony got me through that difficult time because I KNOW I will be reunited with him one day again. I KNOW that I will be surrounded by my family in not just this life but in the next. I am grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ....for His Sacrifice that allows me to be forgiven of my sins when I truly repent. I am grateful for the knowledge that He will carry my heartaches, He will rejoice in my happiness. He will guide me when I struggle and He will rejoice with me when I find my way. I am grateful that when trials come, I KNOW that He walks beside me and supports me as I learn and grow.\ I am grateful for the knoweldge I have that my Father in Heaven hears and answers my prayers...that He knows me and He loves. I know that Joseph Smith was truly a prophet of God and restored the Gospel to the earth again. I know that we are led today, by a prophet of God, Pres. Thomas Monson. I know that the Book of Mormon gives me the knowledge and the guidance I need to live a life whtat will enable me to return to my Father in Heaven. I know it is a true book and that it contains the things that the Lord wants me to know. I love this gospel.

How I live my faith

The Primary organization teaches children from the ages of 18 months until they are twelve. I currently serve as the Stake Primary President. I am blessed to work with the Ward Primary Presidencies through out the stake. I am touched by their testimonies and their love of the children in our area. It is humbling to me to be able to associate with these strong and valiant women who lead and teach our children. I am blessed to work with the Eleven Year Old Scouters as we provide a yearly day camp as well as our yearly Activity Days event for all the 8-11 year old girls. Teaching the gospel through fun activities and lessons makes my day!! I am also a Visiting Teacher and love the sisters that I visit. As I get to know them through monthly visits and phone calls, my life is blessed by the things I learn from them. I am grateful for this calling. Part of the gospel is in the way we live our lives. Service, honesty and integrity are important not only in how I serve in my calling but also in how I live my life. It is important to me that when I meet others, they can see a little of the Savior in me as I strive to live as He lived. I love being a Mormon and being filled with the goodness of the gospel. It gives me direction. It gives me hope. It gives me courage in hard times and humbles me in the good time. I am grateful for the knowledge that my Father in Heaven knows me and knows my needs and gives me the things that cause me to grow the most. I am grateful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ that fills my heart with peace....during the good and the bad times. It is my anchor. I
